Check to see if there is a problem with Facebook

If you’re having trouble loading your News Feed or if it’s empty, first check to see if there is a problem with Facebook. You can do this by visiting the Facebook Status page. If there’s a problem with Facebook, you should see a message explaining what’s going wrong.

If you don’t see a message about an issue, then check if you have any of these issues with your Web browser or app:

-A slow or unreliable Internet connection
-Your Web browser or app is not up to date
-Too many browser tabs are open at the same time
-Ad blockers are turned on
-A Firewall is turned on that prevents Facebook from working properly
-A problem with the cache or cookies in your Web browser

Check your News Feed Preferences

The first thing you should do if your News Feed isn’t working is check your News Feed Preferences. You can access these preferences by clicking on the down arrow in the top-right corner of your home page. From here, you can control which friends’ posts you see and how often you see them.

If that doesn’t solve the problem, it’s possible that something is wrong with Facebook’s servers. To check if this is the case, go to Facebook’s Status Page. If there are any reported problems with News Feed, they will be listed here.

Check other places where you see Facebook

If you’re still not seeing your News Feed:
-Check other places where you see Facebook. This can include the News Feed on your home page, on someone else’s profile or in a group. If you don’t see it in another view, it’s probably because no one has posted anything recently that would appear in your News Feed.
-Check your settings. To check some of the most common issues that could be affecting your News Feed:
--Go to the top of your News Feed and click More.
--ClickNews Feed Preferences.
--From there, you can manage different options for your News Feed, including who you want to see first, who you want to connect with and what kind of posts you want to see.

Check your computer for viruses

If your news feed isn’t working on Facebook, it could be because your computer has a virus. To check for viruses, run a virus scan with your anti-virus software. If you don’t have anti-virus software, you can download it for free from many different websites. Once you’ve run a virus scan, restart your computer and try accessing Facebook again.
